I remember when a politician called me a girl. At the time, I was in my 30s, and I honestly had no idea what he was talking about. (My mom has this nasty habit too. I was telling her about a work problem, and she kept referring to my coworker as a girl. I had to remind my mom that the woman was in her 50s!)

All theses schools have to go. They work off this bullshit military mentality borne of the boomers: give the kids a long list of arbitrary rules and then punish them disproportionately for stupid infractions. Along with providing pedophiles and abusers safe harbor, many of these “religious” ones have racist origin…

Stuff like this happens because these schools are essentially above the law, by which I mean the law in MO and other states exempts them from any kind of real oversight by the state:

Yeah, I’m not sure the CDC recommends you pull 7G in your fighter plane while you’re 6 months pregnant, but I’m guessing there hasn’t been a lot of testing, so who knows.

Look at it this way. The reason she got kicked off the team was because of the papparazzi, which exist to perpetuate a celebrity-obsessed culture and media and maybe without them, we as a society would be forced to focus more on important problems like poverty, racism, etc. I would say this is in fact a social…

But... you’re spending your limited amounts of attention arguing with strangers about it. You could have been spending your time doing a myriad of other things to make the world a better place. Instead you’re here, making a case for how limited your bandwidth is.

Sympathy is not a zero sum game. You can feel bad for an innocent kid’s childhood getting fucked up by weirdos with cameras, and also feel bad about starving families, racism, broken education systems, etc.

Always appropriate to remind people: Anyone who does not want to have children... and DOES NOT have children should be applauded.

Millenials seem to have missed the memo that once you hit 35 you literally don’t have to care about any of this shit anymore.

Life like on Earth is statistically a random fluke but there’s so much universe filled with so much stuff that the odds of many other flukes like us out there is very high.
