Exactly. We bought a new car a few years ago. It was a brand new model, really high safety rating, good mileage, good warranty, payments well within our budget. We may own it for 10-15 years, so the depreciation isn't really a concern.

depends on how used it is I guess. I myself was recently in the market for a big pickup (like 2500 model) and ended up buying used. It had about 45k miles on it, had everything I wanted and was probably $15k cheaper than what the new model would have been.

Uh... what? So, is this person suggesting never financing a car? Nothing wrong with buying used, but if you're buying a car for say $5,000.00 chances are somewhat high that maintenance costs are going to be a real concern a lot sooner than say, financing a $17k car.

Yea definitely. I think a lot of people, myself included, who like to write sometimes get too caught up in their head about the idea of making money off writing. Because it seems so perfect. We like to write, there are ways to make money from writing (sometimes a lot of money), so why can't WE do it.
