Sounds like a fun idea, but in practice, as you discovered, people just panic because you are pointing at their car and they can’t really hear what you’re saying and your body language suggest something horrible is happening.
I finally got my welder out this summer and must admit, made some horrendous errors. I learned a thing or two, but certainly not enough to build an auction car in two weeks and get me some of that.
