If you want anyone to call the "Japanese George Lucas" then that's Kajishima Masaki (The original concept creator of Tenchi Muyo!)

I'm really glad you brought up Rollercoaster Tycoon. While I don't think it will ever be remembered on the same level as System shock 2 or Deus Ex, I think it was just as revolutionary if not for its popularity.
And how much did you pay for Isaac? lol I bet a whopping 5 dollars (including Wrath) when it came out, and Edmund STILL wants to have a loyalty discount to those who bought it. Rebirth is also set to have double the content of the base game and wrath combined, is built in a whole new engine that is supposed to run…
If I had my way, at least 3 of the titles on this list would have been dropped to give Lost Odyssey a spot. It's so criminally underrated that It almost makes me mad.
I agree, I thought they were good designs, but unfortunately I don't think it would be well received at all, if these comments are any kind of litmus test.
Correction, it doesn't pay to make games on mobile*
Someone not deliberately bashing on Chinese Democracy or DNF? Their might just be hope for gaming humanity. DNF wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but the fact it even saw the light of day is a miracle. But it's like you said, pretty much everyone went in with completely unreasonable expectations, what…
You mean with a share plan that no one, not even Microsoft could explain correctly, (or ever has) so people just ran with whatever they thought it meant (IE what you're describing) hailing it as a lost gem of an idea when it was probably going to be nothing more than a glorified demo sharer, because publisher's would…

Wait, wait, wait
Tenchi In Tokyo, which is the same design as one of her most famous pictures. http://www.zerochan.net/92401#full
Are they actually going to have a plot that's not centered around "LOL WE BREAK THE 4TH PLOT, WHAT A TROPE" every 5 seconds? Because that was the biggest thing that detracted from their games, it's a novelty to have every once in awhile, but it really just shows the game as being way more shallow than it should.
Umm, not sure if you've seen any die hard fan of a sports team, or hell anything, but they don't make merchandise for every facet of your life for nothing. I see Ohio State flags everywhere, and people who have entire rooms and decor in that teams style, I'd say they are very much synonymous when it comes to the…
Man, now that you remind me of Blade Kitten... just sadness all around =/
Honestly, I wish they would bring Metroid back to the 2D plane. Nintendo could do what they did with New Super Mario Bros. Make it a 2.5D side-scroller (but obviously a metroid style one) so it would harken back to what metroid was, but fleshing out the plane more like NSMB did.
I think Religion and Politics do a much finer job at that, and have been doing it for far longer, lol.
I never absolved them of their involvement in A:CM. But they also aren't the only reason it failed, hence the reason I made the post in the first place, because everyone wants to blame one person instead of actually blaming all the parties involved for what THEY failed at. Where was Sega when this was going on? You…
Um you have that backwards. You know that sweet looking demo they first showed? That was all Gearbox first, the thing that got everyone pumped, then they sent that and all the assets to Timegate to finish the single player campaign and what does Timegate do? THEY scrap the assets they were given and restart, so when…
I was actually surprised at how good it was, because I feel like the art for it completely betrayed how awesome it was. If you looked at any of the Steam pics on the store page, you'd think "Oh look, another third person shooter with a generic marine-like guy", but the story and characters completely outweigh any of…
Ahh yep, I guess I misread that, though I think I steered it back towards that understanding with the way they reacted.
