The gap is shrinking. Steam raked in a colossal sum last year. And that's just one of the many digital distributors. Many reports have been made regarding devs returning to PC because of the need to actually innovate gaming technology.

You're gonna' have to clarify this. Because PC games, as an objective fact, almost always, if not always, look better. Higher resolutions, AA, AF, and if it's not a console port, higher textures and higher poly-model counts. Not to mention superior lighting and shader systems, and while not visual, better physics…
