No, it was used.  Hadn't had my coffee yet.

Used, hadn't had my coffee yet when I posted.

A lot of the time my wife drove it.  80% of her driving is taking my daughter back and forth to school. She can get there and back with no gas.  It is charged again for the afternoon pickup.

Hadn’t my coffee yet. D'oh, used.

There Volt specific side of these things was designed with government money to first generation Lexus LS standards or better. I bought a used 2014 Volt in 2016, it has been a great car.  Average over 81mpg.  It was well over 90 mpg until I had a 80 mile commute for 6 months with no charging at work.

The timing belt is probably still good.  I have a 2014 Volt with about 104k miles.  I've put over 85k miles on it since I bought it new.  It has required 2 oil changes.

In my old F-150 I remember a few times shining my high beams unintentionally at stop signs/stop lights. I would just push the clutch in when stopped. Hard to dim the lights when your foot is on the clutch.

My 1967 Imperial convertible had the radio station changer.

If you do the math, right about now is when they should be running out.  Chinese New Year should have ended at the end of January.  5th week after that would be March 2nd. Figure a week or two for shipments to filter through the system,  puts you at now.

This is just another domino. I have to believe at least part of this is due to the fact all of China was shut down for a month. I find it very difficult to believe that there isn’t at least one Chinese made part or sub assembly on every car and truck. It might only be a small piece of an electrical assembly from a 2nd

Look at it this way today,  E85 is 85% hand sanitizer.

Bback when I had my E30 about 10 years ago there were parts from at least 5 or 6 cars in there.  The limited slip diff was from a 28th. I completely destroyed the firewall of a junkyard e30 for a wiper motor. Tin snips make the job much easier.  Other assorted lights, lenses, hoses, and knobs too.

Judging by the badge, the first transgender Transformer.

The outbreak didn’t really get rolling until Chinese New Year. Everyone plans on the whole country shutting down for 2-3 weeks then anyway. Full production should have been back up a week or two ago. In about another month everything will start hitting the fan from a manufacturing standpoint.

So how long before one of the big 3 shuts a line down due to a parts shortage for Chinese sources parts.  I know most of the stuff is domestically sourced,  but it only takes one missing part to shut a line down.  Talking with friends in various manufacturing industries, almost nothing is coming out of China right now

A C4 Corvette could cruise at 55mph in 6th gear at about 600rpm.  Idle was 800rpm.

My in laws had an Avalanche.   From what I could see it combined the worst features of a SUV with the worst of a pickup truck. Horrible rear visibility, not much legroom in the rear seat, and even with the mid gate incapable of hauling a queen sized mattress. The bed is rather narrow.

Any single cab long bed truck with a good tonneau or camper top.

Ssounds like the Dart carried on the legacy of the Caliber.

It was many years before I realized that this was a factory option, not junkyard parts swapping.
