    My mother almost gave my dad a heart attack with a fake Rolex in a borrowed real Rolex box back in the 1980s.  My parents usually exchanged gifts in the under $100 price range in a good year. A $5k watch was definitely not in the budget. We had to tell him it was a $20 fake rather quickly.

    I got suckered with this once many years ago, didn't realize I was paying for the whole tank.  I had rented the Budget special $19.99/day Ford Ranger.  It was a 4wd in Chicago. When I realized I wasn't going to use nearly the whole tank, I just started driving around in 4 wheel low.  It was a rental. 

    They neglected to buy a vehicle with a reliable transmission.
