Agreed on human visuals (more around 21:9), but code is vertical, not horizontal. horizontal code lines normally dont extend very far, but a page of code can go on for ages. If your monitors are horizontal, then you end up with a ton of dead space where the code doesn’t extend.

my immediate guess was that they were just carved from a round piece of gold. spin the gold, push the carving knife into it. It would create those little spirals, just like a metal lathe.
