Hahaha, sounds like Porsche. I absolutely agree a Cayenne would be awesome, but she just loves Wranglers, and they're still only a little above $10k and never really drop in value, so I can't argue with that much. As a highway tourer and with the snow we get (or at least got this year), it would be really hard to get

Whoa, that kind of exotic grouping always makes me wonder if I've missed some awesome event. The R8 may be a quarter of the price, give or take, but I think it stands out just as much. And, psh, most people have no idea.

Yeah my car came with the sport tailpipes, which I decidedly like, though I would have rationalized either one. I haven't detected any difference from the single tailpipe, but it had been months since I drove one when I bought it.

Yeah! And then probably some cheapo boring car so we can both drive in the winter or alternatively actually stand the highway (something the Wrangler does not seem proficient at). I managed to never let the Boxster touch fallen snow outside of parking lots, or I would have quickly turned from a brave man into a

That's a good point about the the Porsche vs aftermarket wheels, I was going to research that when I go about getting smaller winter wheels. I probably won't track this year, but there's a decent chance I will eventually (there's not much around here so I never have before) so my plan is to get the Boxster or maybe

Here's where I start sounding like an idiot. Yes it's my only car, and I only have summer tires even though it's been the worst winter in memory (I live in central Indiana), since not only can I not afford winter wheels/tires after buying the car, but I have no place to put them in my apartment (with no garage or

Oh believe me I think about those dark wheels all the time! I waffled between wanting Sapphire blue or Guards red (body paint of course) for a while, and I decided that if I went with blue I'd go with the platinum finish, and with Guards I'd maybe get black. So now that I have red I have to decide: keep them, sell

I've only driven it in heavy rain once so far, and yeah it wasn't that bad :) It's just my first car that isn't a hatchback, so there have been some interesting but pretty trivial changes.

That's nuts that Sport Plus is so comfortable in your car; awesome! Now I do wish I had PASM a little bit, but most of the discomfort in the Boxster is from the entire car moving, i.e. the stiff springs instead of the wonderful static dampers. Taking that extra edge off certainly wouldn't hurt though.

They seem to think it's justified by giving it a token amount more horsepower and torque and marketing it as more extreme, but....yeah it doesn't make any sense. I miss the rear wipers of my previous hatchbacks though!

Also I think the journalists will think the F-type coupe is a much better sports or at least track car, but I don't know how that will mesh with real world usage differences. Sort of like the Cayman vs Boxster. If it were my money, it would purely be the amazing looks of the coupe vs the open air experience and sound

That's interesting, so is the GTS the only way to get that special engine/transmission mapping? That'd definitely make it worth more than the sum of the options. And I totally get what you're saying about the exhaust; I'd probably do the same.

I think the F-type is weirdly marketed, or at least perceived. Every review says that the V6s make it a good sports car, but the chassis isn't tight enough for the V8, so it gets a bit unruly and isn't really a Porsche competitor. However, the sound of the V8 is absolutely mindblowing, so what it sounds like to me is

That's a good point, with their terminology there's no way they'd put a larger engine than the Turbo into a Turbo S. So just pleeease give us PDCC!

I was never bothered too much by the +/- layout in my DSG GTI, but my family rented a new 528i for a road trip that has push for down, pull for up and I was impressed by just how good it feels. Pushing to upshift isn't a big deal, but pulling to downshift just never feels right. So yeah, the proper paddles were a

I have moderate hopes that there will be both less and more extreme versions of the Macan in the future. But it has the same issue as the Boxster/Cayman/911. Give it a V8 and PDCC and suddenly nobody's buying Cayenne Turbos. But in SUV land maybe it's different. Many people like to have the biggest, most expensive toy

The top is nice! I'm not sure it's much thinner than a Continental GT's, but that's speculation. And after buying it I got handsy and found out that some of the sections, like the large piece that connects to the front and ends up on top when it's folded, are actually completely hard, so it's like a weird

Damn, that green, I actually don't hate it too much. Well, I'd have to see in real life. I'd also never turn down a Cayenne but I wonder if I'm more of a Macan man; less weight and more tossable wheelbase and all that. Only multiple test drives will decide!

Oh that's right the GT3 doesn't have rear seats. For me, I reckon it'll be a few years before I have kids if at all, so now's the time to get the two-seater sports car :)
