You dip down to protect from an inside pass. It forces your opponent to pass on the outside, which is a much harder to do and still maintain the line through the turn.

I bought the Specialized Turbo S electrically assisted bike about a year ago. It only works if you pedal but does allow a top speed of 28 mph with heavy pedaling and a range of 40-60 miles depending upon hills and speed. Around town I cruise between 20-25 mph and have no problem with range. Weight is about 45 lbs
