No, actually it hasn’t, because the cars are still getting above EPA stated mileage, and are still well built and fun to drive.
Go look around for used TDI’s, they’re holding their price just fine.

6th in the MT is geared way taller, so at 70mph they’re turning at 1700-1800 rpm, where we and our DSG’s turn at 2400.
Had I known that going in, I would have opted for the manual, but I stupidly assumed they would have the same gearset.
I do think however, the DSG gets better in town mileage due to its shorter gearing,…
I feel the same way. 11 Golf TDI here, and I’m always disappointed when a tank gets under 40mpg. But then I think about how many other cars out there are getting that kind of mileage, with the same fun factor, and stop caring.
That % drop in mileage is less than what I see going from LRR’s to summer tires.
If VW wants…
This is what a lot of people seem to be missing. There are diminishing returns once you start getting up into the 40’s and beyond. Unless you’re taking drastic change to get another 10-20 or more miles per gallon, you’re really not seeing much difference at the pump.
It’s more or less the savings you would get from…
I bought my TDI Golf new in 2010, ordered straight from the factory in DE.
I stopped taking it to the dealer after I got my 3 free oil changes, and have performed all the maintenance myself for the last 60k miles. It’s got a little over 100k on the clock now, and I honestly don’t care about this kerfuffle.
I like the…
The problem was found to be dumb people putting gas in the cars. There’s no issue with the fuel system if it’s only run on its intended fuel source.
You know you can do the DSG fluid change yourself for under $150. Tack on the oil and air filters for the full 40k service and you’re at like $225 or so.
And there wasn’t a problem with the fuel pumps, people put gas into their cars, and wrecked the pumps. There was nothing wrong with the design.
I feel like VW Golf TDI is the answer. Not v8 ratti...
Who the fuck roadtrips in something that gets sub 20’s? Rich people...
Idling around for a long time in warm weather, plus slowly moving places puts a strain on any old cooling system with an underpowered/sized fan.
That slot is for parking cards or toll cards or ferry cards or other regular use to drive paperwork type things.
I think.
You don’t have full boost at your highway cruising speed? Shoulda bought a vw. LOLOLOLOLOLOL
But seriously, I never downshift to pass in my TDI.
I understand that there’s a quality/fitment reason and materials reasons for buying an expensive helmet, but is this almost 900 dollar helmet any safer than a $120 one that meets the same standards?
You wont have the ergo and materials that went into the expensive helmet in the cheap one, but does it do the same job…
If you go to the Portland Airport, take your ticket with you, because you have to pay at a ticket kiosk before you can leave, and they don’t just do it on the exit. They’re in the airport and near the elevators in the garages.
humming this in my head as they flew by.
I feel like $55 a day for unlimited booze is a steal.
Full disclosure: I’m a bartender at a brick and mortar restaurant - not a boat.
As a person on vacation, I’ll probably have... 7-8 drinks throughout the day. and at $10-15 per drink - assuming cruises gouge even more than normal places, that $55 saves you 40-100…
The video in this thread does not do the sound justice. It is brutal sounding. A+ for whats under the hood. Sounds serious.
I’m dealing with the same issue, moving from Birmingham to Portland. The cost to haul outweighs any cost to keep, so i’m selling them in town or near town before I leave. You can always buy another car when you get to your final destination.
I feel like, aside from the ones that actually have water in them (how often does that even happen?) these guys should be driving through the rocky desert on some sort of semi-slick r-comp type tire so they can actually have grip on the flat dry rock.
Knobby tires don’t make no sense to me.
If you go to a college that has sports, all atheletes and band/cheer/etc members have to sign forms that say they won’t say bad things about the conference or departments.
Pretty typical shit.
I bet your hearing is superb...
Safety first bubs. Everyone likes to race cars and have a good time, but safety of participants and spectators is paramount. Hearing loss is no joke, and at 100+dB over a weekend of racing, you’ve permanently lost a good piece of your hearing.
Not everyone is ok with that.
