Bush?
Bush?
Under normal circumstances such a person would never get within the same ZIP code as the White House, let alone occupy it. I blame the electorate. Yes, including those who voted for Clinton.
There is just something so very wrong with our system in that the best way to get way with crimes is to hold the highest office in the country. And the thing is, it’s not even a law that a president can’t be prosecuted, just a “policy.” Why is no one willing to break the policy?
That’s rough buddy.
I work as a domestic and sexual violence advocate and can say that, even in our very liberal area where the local PD likes to brag about their “alliance” with us, the police rarely even give our number to folks who would benefit from it. They laugh and roll their eyes through trainings and frequently side with…
I think she could say literally ANYTHING and she would not be dropped from consideration.
Oh, she was ferociously intelligent (notwithstanding her family background of MANY Generations of brother-sister incest). I think she was the first ruler of the Ptolemaic dynasty to speak Egyptian.
Things I’m fine with/agree with: Criticising white feminists for making racism about them, instead of standing to the side as supportive allies, and/or choosing to fight against hardship aimed at women as a whole.
Things I’m not:
- Doing so by calling women ‘bitches’.
- Saying the LGBTQIA+ community hasn’t experienced…
I think some of the backlash may be due to the fact that Bill Burr has a long history of maligning feminism in general. In an old bit he suggested that Michelle Obama isn’t qualified to give speeches and stated that the only reason she is liked is because she is a woman. He does with feminism what Chappelle does with…
This is a very uncharitable take on the article.
did Neville get better at potions under Snape’s tutelage? Or Did Snape make him so terrified that he got worse?
I never saw Snape ‘revel’ in abuse - rather he was just a strict teacher with a ‘dark past’ that haunted him through rumors.
For real- the man was so unnecessarily cruel- it’s one thing to keep a low profile and hold a grudge, but he was Neville’s boggart. The kid literally lost his parents to insanity by Death Eaters and endured crippling low self esteem, but it’s SNAPE who represents his biggest fear. I think it says a lot :/
Ugh I’m so sorry that you were punished for being sexually harassed. My family wasn’t always Evangelical (I was raised Calvinist until 3rd grade) so my parents didn’t seem to have absorbed the “women are responsible for preventing the male sexual gaze” bullshit that’s so prevalent in that culture, but I heard it ALL…
THANK you. I love Rickman but he wasn’t right as Snape. He also wasn’t the age that Harry’s parents would have been if they survived and that always bothered me.
Yeah, they needed better casting on the adult actors just in general.
I have to say that Ricman’s Snape, especially int he first movie, has a heavy foppish nature to him. He’s like Cruise’s Lestat in that he’s intensely cruel but very charismatic, and definitely showing some femininity in gestures and the way they work the garments. The movies also sort of imply that Snape is bullied…
This is by far my favorite photo from their wholly ignorant and incredibly dangerous actions. It looks as though he’s actually petitioning the protesters on whether or not he should shoot his wife and if he did, would it look like an accident.
This is entirely OT and my apologies for it but I can’t hold it in.
Even the most simplistic look at the 2nd Amendment shows that it only gives you the right to bear arms. You can own anything and as many as you like to protect yourself.
