My cousin claimed to be homosexual so he could get out of the military. He never has been gay and continues to not be gay. Or bi. Or Pan. Or anything but straight and an ass.

Vegans using cute farm animals to try and push their agenda kind of amuse me. I grew up in farm country, so while my family didn’t have animals (my father worked for a nuclear power plant) EVERYONE around me did. For every one cute cow there are 10,000 dumb un-charming ones. Same with most farm animals bred for food.…
The comment is my personal feelings, not a statement of fact. I used to watch a huge variety of movies with my friend, nearly a movie a week. There are certainly some art-house movies I absolutely ADORED on the big screen. I’m not just suggesting that its the explosions but often the sound mixing, the sound effects,…
Add to that that following an unlawful law... is a bad thing.
“a white male in this country has very few rights and they’re getting took more every day,”
As someone who LOVES to study the artistry behind films of all types, the skill that’s put into them and the collaboration and work!... I fucking hate these kind of takes.
Dadaism is over 100 years old and already challenged the idea of what is and isn’t art.
Honestly, when I leave the house (something I loathe) and spend a few hours and a fair chunk of cash to watch a movie... I DON’T want to watch a dramatic movie or a sad movie, or a movie that leaves me emotionally drained. Which, these ‘acclaimed’ directors tend to make. I’ll save those movies for watching at home…
FUCK. I need waffles like right the fuck now.
Dickbags like this love to describe themselves as ‘Funny’ and whenever they say something douchey and people don’t react with laughter or godforbid, take issue with it, they get super defensive and snap “It’s just a joke!”
Weirdly people can have differing opinions. I don’t find it unsettling because this article told me its unsettling, I came to that conclusion on my own.
The overdubbing was really weird. Everyone sounded like their lines were recorded in a booth and put into the scenes too loudly.
I found that deeply off-putting too.
That’s why mixing CGI with live action is often a crapshoot. Especially if mo-cap isn’t used or is used poorly. We see dogs virtually every single day, we know how a dog moves so when an CGI dog suddenly takes the place of a previously real dog it stands out like a kick in the face.
Its really weird, they put too much effort into giving them expressive faces but don’t do enough? Like Lady still has those hang dog eyes, its just the ‘eyebrows’ and upper eyelids that move so the emotional beats are super off.
That was just a 90s thing. Liefeld may have been most famous for it but he was CERTAINLY not alone. A lot of artists were either pressured or felt the need to conform to the era’s styles.
Its really interesting how different comics from different eras read SO differently. Plenty of writers have their own flavors for sure but the 90s is a different beast than the 80s, same with the 00s. I think modern comics are (usually) better written. Even some of the best runs from back in the day are filled with…
Yeah, the idea that the rule is a mandate that MUST BE FOLLOWED!!!! doesn’t seem to be the case here. I didn’t get that read from it at all. More of a ‘We need more mutants, get down and dirty folks!’ and not something they’re going to force on people because that is effectively rape.
Sadly in the comics he’s just ‘craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy!’ and its implied to have a genetic component and a kind of inevitability of his and his blood relatives. Which is really not ok to me. I’m badly over ‘They’re a bad guy because they’re crazy’ nonsense.
I think Asimov’s I, Robot was more about him TRYING to break the 3 laws and coming up with some of the most creative ways they’re virtually immutable.
