Splatoon. I love that darn game. My Wii U has gotten a lot of use, just on that.

Y’all’s rivalry is the best thing to happen to the Wii U. Sold me on Mario Maker.

Never saw this before. Brilliant.

Never gets old

welp

The Wii U is a great console that’s been at an extremely affordable price point for a very long time, and has a very strong library. I’m so fucking sick of this meme that it’s bad just because it sold poorly.

that Would kill 3rd party completely due to not being able to compete With nintendo

I love Wii and Wii U, and they definitely make for a great additional console. That being said, my “additional” console has gotten more game time than my PC or Xbox One. I still don’t think I would like being able to play some of the third party games, but I’ve had a great time gaming on my Wii U.

I’m with you. There have been some gaming droughts, but I have enjoyed most of my time with the Wii U.

I mentioned this in another post, and I’ll say it again:

Not to sound like an apologist for Nintendo or anything, but I’ve gotten everything and more that I wanted from my WiiU. Ever since Wii Nintendo can’t really be trusted to be the only console in the home, due to absolutely no third party support and underwhelming specs. But for me? I got it alongside my PS4 when Mario

There games are good imo, which is why i continue to play them. Not, because of nostalgia, but because they are just good, and fun. I mean their games are reviewed mostly good. (Exclusives that is.) They aren’t perfect, and have made some bad choices for sure, but their exclusive games always get me to own their

I have been asking myself that question. I think those who play Nintendo games are the same people that have played them 25 years ago. Nintendo fans. Maybe because of nostalgia, or because those people now have young children and Nintendo games suit them best.

This won’t fit the established narrative of the article or most of the comments but the Wii U is my favorite console of the current generation.

Nintendo’s fanbase = Siliconera. Go say ANYTHING bad about Nintendo on there and you’ll get shredded. Even the readers of MyNintendoNews have more realistic views than the fanboys on Siliconera.

I’m curious who Nintendo’s fanbase is nowadays. Is it the people who grew up on N64/SNES/NES? It certainly can’t be kids and teens because from what I’ve seen, that crowd gives zero f**** about Nintendo. To them videogames = PC/Sony/MS hardware or a tablet.

Yeah, without the nostalgia goggles on, I think the Wii U is definitely better than the N64, Gamecube, or Wii, all of which had more or less the same problems as the Wii U. I think the Wii U has had definitive versions of some of Nintendo’s biggest IPs (Mario Kart and Smash in particular). It seems like because it

Maybe I just love underdogs because nobody else does (RIP Dreamcast as well....), but I adore the Wii U. It’s been my favorite console to own, and there are a ton of amazing games on there. I have a massive backlog of games to play, and tons I don’t own and would still love to. I feel guilty about the number of games

No the N64, the Gamecube, and maybe the original Wii were all more disappointing than the Wii U. We have two gaming PCs, a PS4, and a Wii U in our house. The Wii U is easily the most used system for gaming followed closely by the PCs. My 8 and 12 year old kids love it. You just aren’t in the target demographic.

Virtual Boy. Lest we forget.
