True, true. It’s good to know that there are people out there preserving these pieces of art. I wonder how soon until some of these pieces make their way into fine art museums?

GREAT SCOTT!!!

And then start the movie complaining about how the executives couldn’t think of a good subtitle in time.

Feel this image macro (showing my age by saying that) is mandatory here.

Now I kind of wanna see a gaming convention where they have a “Little Wars” event that requires all participants to dress in 1910's period clothing in order to participate.

Anything that requires recognizing Base64 hits that standard for me. And let’s not forget the file conversion to PNG, decoding the binary map line by line, then taking the resulting Base64 code and converting that. Three layers of conversions!

So if I understand this right, you’re telling me that Monk Maz Koshia is

Only so far as being able to have the file stored somewhere so you can decrypt it. Thankfully, someone did, and it required some extensive coding experience that gives a game like Fez a run for its money.

I also get the feeling that they are trying to get him to say as many funny sounding words as possible just so that there’s an audio recording of him saying something like “Kielbasa” whenever someone out there needs it for a meme or what have you.

Here now is a picture of the game’s developers:

The Wikipedia article for Swing You Sinners actually cites one of the animator’s memoirs about that one clip. I also recall hearing somewhere that that was a reference to a specific Jewish comedian at the time, but I can’t remember their name off the top of my head.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I stated that there are a few human characters (not many, but a few) that are in the game.

You are correct that the game makers are under no obligation to make reparations for what was done by animators in the past. All the game makers are trying to do is to make a game.

Well now I wouldn’t say that.

You are correct in that the inclusion of a person of color character wouldn’t be enough to educate and enlighten players about the past. The game would have to take on elements of edutainment in order to do so within itself, and from a game design perspective, that could take away from the enjoyment.

Thank you! :)

The problem is that they DID include humans. Not many humans, but there are a few.

I agree. If it WAS a Damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation, then it would be a Catch-22.

In the USA, I don’t think that’s possible with anything anymore. The hyper-politicization that’s been growing here has made it nearly impossible to keep politics out. I can’t say what it’s like in the rest of the world, but that’s what it seems like to me here in the USA.
