That would make sense given that the primary audience for these videos are college classes on game design. I'd expect that after each video, the professor would stop the video and engage the class in discussion to talk about what they just saw.

Hopefully they will eventually. But it's gonna take time. People have to essentially change the way they think on a very base level, and that's not easy. But I am seeing examples of it in games and discussions circling the internet that are quite intelligent.
Not all of them, but again, her primary target audience are game design students - the game developers of the future. Now if she were able to make her own game, which she might somewhere down the road, then more power to her. But I am seeing her labors start to bear fruit.
Well the thing is that there's a separation between "Sex" and "Gender". "Sex" applies to your physical construct - whether or not you have male or female specific body parts. Normally, for humans, we have only one set of parts depending on if we have XY or XX chromosomes.
Well naturally, all of this will fall on deaf ears when it comes to marketers. But if her words are passed on to the developers and publishers who can have a sway over the marketers (even if they have to fight them tooth and nail which they HAVE done [Remember "The Last Of Us"?]), then that can be a catalyst for…
I think she's come quite a way since her first video. I took the first video as a piece of a larger puzzle since I knew it was multiple parts. I wanted to see how it played out. In this one, I think Anita made a good comparison about how the "Ms. Male Character" basically just reinforces the "Male Default" standard…
Which she pretty much addresses and acknowledges in this video too. Like "SuperGirl"!?!?!
Well she does go over the WHY these tropes exist; in great detail actually. As for HOW to get rid of them, well the thing is that you can't completely eliminate a trope, but you can diminish it by making it less common.
You could e-mail her. Send her a tweet over Twitter. Leave a note on her Facebook page. Maybe respond to her Tumblr post for this video and get others to reblog your response?
Dude... it's been 8 years since Jack Thompson was disbarred (maybe 7, but still...)
It's like how "pink" is associated with girls. If you see the color pink, do you think of anything other than "female/girly/woman/girl/not-boy"? Sure maybe after you've looked at it and thought about it, you might think of something else, but I'm looking for initial reactions when you first see/hear/think about…
The answer is yes, and you can find out more about them and what they're doing over at www.igda.org where many indie and some big name developers are members.
Dangit Jon! Where the heck are you?!
OOOHHHHH! Good one! Has anyone ever done a "Mr. Female Character" before?
It's like that Spongebob episode where he met Sandy.
That's the video that'll be coming out after this one. I think we're moving in a sort of gradual progression.
It's not, really. In fact, my post that I made here was my attempt to sort of digest what she went over on why the over-use of the "Ms. Male Character" trope can be harmful to society and how avoiding it can help make stronger characters that appeal to more people (like Samus Aran or Naoto Shinogane for example).
I've been watching these videos every time they come out, and feel like I learn something "new" each time I watch them. I say "new" in quotes because the fact of the matter is that somehow, in the back of my head, I always knew the things that Anita was saying. However, watching these videos made me aware which is…
"I don't get it! What's the big deal with Shiny Pokemon!? It's like people are crazy about collecting Pokemon stuff or something!"
Well if you want some where they don't look like they're plotting to take over the world with their cuteness, try these:
