If you're wanting it for video, I would hold out and get one that uses a compact flash instead of an sd card. I use my t1i a decent bit and am happy with it, but you can't really use it for long shooting(several hours) as it heats up the memory card and camera.

The wonderful thing with the DSLR's these days with Canon and others is their "aged" cameras aren't that much of a downgrade. The biggest jump that they had was between the T1i and T2i and that was in the megapixel amount. The 3 & 4 are both smaller incremental changes.
