On my 8th birthday, my older sister got her friends to take us all out on a drive at exactly 8:08. I think we literally just drove around town, but I felt super special to be hanging out with the big kids.

I’ve found several great Meetup groups that are great for this sort of thing too. I moved to a new city and I enjoy walking/hiking and kayaking, one basically free activity, and one potentially expensive activity. I was introduced to some great walking areas, and found that all of our waterways nearby are so polluted

Trello helps me organize and keep my thoughts together, but it’s certainly not perfect, even with all the add ons. I’m excited to see what other people post!

YAY! I’ve been waiting!

Such a great read! Thanks for braving the heat and giving us a realistic insight into this kind of thing. Signed, the white girl who dreams of a Pinterest perfect van as if it will fix all of her problems. Haha.

I think there are other options around too. I can get burgers of a similar or better quality from fast food places. They don’t take up as much time, either. That sit-down burger place marker has moved wildly since they were really popular.

“Regular” can imply frequency or that it’s the closest, but honestly, “regular” to me means that it’s the first one you think of. It’s your PREFERRED place. It’s the one you know exactly where everything is, what they have and what they don’t. I have access to a dozen or more places in my new city, but more often than

Get as much off as you can, then cook according to your preference.  I live in the heart of excellent midwestern sweet corn, so that good good crunch is worth the few silks you might still get. As my dad still says, eh, they won’t kill you.

Coke/cherry stripes, or cherry/blue raspberry stripes. Ya girl has to go for the aesthetic.  We didn’t have true 7/11s where I grew up, so it was just the three flavors at the Marathon Mart.

My friend and I decided to try out a new bar here in town that we had heard about. It’s a small place in a bougie strip mall, and I’m not quite sure what they were going for. It had gaming machines in the back, four booths on the wall, electronic taps on the other wall (you scan a wristband, pour your beer yourself,

I was exactly the right age to eat up this film and all the hype around it. Of course, I remember watching it with my friend and running to the family computer to look up all the “facts” about it. I ended up on that website, and we were convinced it was all real.

I also like soaking them in ice water for a bit.  It takes some of the bite out of them without softening them. It’s an integral part of my salsa making process.

No arguments here. Also, the joy of a lukewarm charcoal-charred hot dog eaten without a bun at a cookout. Post-burgers, pre-S’Mores.

Right?  If you click the button on the far right of the dash next to your kinja icon, it will pull them all up, but I did like the top navigation bar better.

LOVE this series. (Also, I don’t think the first Camaro appeared in 1996.  Not to be that person, but)

I keep watching the gif because it’s just so smooth. This is a person who has done this a million times. Amazing.

I grew up in a community with an oil refinery, so watching this was like my worst nightmare. We had regular talks growing up about what the procedures were if there were ever a fire at the refinery, even though we were lucky enough to live far on the other side of town from it. Man. I’m glad they got everyone out.

Shortly after I graduated college, one of my college friends experienced a terrible family tragedy that killed both of her parents. It was a horrible circumstance, and our friend group decided that we would all attend the funeral and see if there was anything we could do to help out.

So great to see my girl Simone getting some love.  I had to watch this video multiple times just because I could NOT BELIEVE she was doing it.  SO GREAT.

A shill always works! Haha
