If you want cafe spaces in libraries, then you need to properly fund and staff the libraries as a whole. I’m a librarian, and we made Takeout news (by accident!) when we began allowing food in our building. Just a couple of years later, we had to reverse course and disallow all food because we don’t have the

One tech advancement that has made my life so much easier: scan and go. I have sensory sensitivities that often make big box stores a hellscape for me, and I have a ticking clock in my head that means I need to leave immediately when it runs out. In Meijer and Sam’s Club, you can scan your items with your phone in

So onion confit? I’m in.

I will say, though I think he went far too hard in his first season, this last season, he seems to have mellowed and let his caring side take the lead. Whatever the other issues, (Mexican week, whatever the f that s’more was supposed to be), Matt wasn’t one of them for me this last season. I hope he gets another gig

For real. At best book Mal was completely flat and dull. At worst, he was a clueless asshole. Show Mal has actual charisma, motivation, and a lot of personality. Both the writing and the actor brought a lot more to him.

I’m not crying, you’re crying.

All of this plus my auditory processing issues has necessitated that my subtitles are just always on.

I got such Ben Wyatt vibes from Gregory not understanding Gritty. Such a great episode of such a great show.

My city has the southernmost Illinois location, and since we have a LOT of Chicago expats, the lines were brutal for the first year it was open (though it opened during the pandemic so it was also bc they had only drive-through). It’s a frequent stop for us, though all of my friends are originally from points south.

Why do we let these TERFs out of the greys?

Oh yeah, the water was actually pooling next to the foundation when I moved in, so I extended some drainpipes, dug some french drains and used the soil and beds to help grade the yard away from the house. It’s not a big yard, but man, it took me some serious sweat equity.

Moved into our house last year, and there was zero landscaping or plantings of any kind. I hauled in and spread four tons of topsoil, working it into the hard packed clay soil. I wish I would have done soil and compost together, but I figure that I’ll work in more compost and such as I keep adding more plants over the

For me, I just want some effort. I don’t want to always plan the date. I don’t want to handle all the logistics for ever. I don’t want to be the only person driving more than 30 minutes+ to wherever you live. Put in some effort in ALL aspects of the relationship, even like. 30%. That and some respect is all we want.

Hey, so if you liked the show as much as I did, do it a favor and write it a review on Amazon, IMDB, and/or Rotten Tomatoes. It seems that there’s been a dedicated one star campaign against it for “bringing race into it” and being too “woke” from people who obviously haven’t seen it at all.

Krispy Kreme’s pumpkin spice cake donut is the best pumpkin spice thing ever, if you ask me. I’m not generally a pumpkin spice person, but I will drive all the way across town for one of those.

So, our state fair is going on now, and there are several cruise-ins and car club meetings in our city, so there’s been TONS, but there was one that made me laugh really hard.

Born and raised! Haha. Southeast/Central Illinois for me!

My mom used to take the chipped beef and use it for the outside coating on a cheeseball. We would make it for every NYE party, along with cocktail sauce and grape jelly meatballs.

A dive bar near our place hosts at least 10 different ghost franchises, to the point where I check the pickup location for any new place on DoorDash. They run the local Mariah’s cookies outlet. I agree that Mariah’s cookies are marginal in quality at best, too expensive, and don’t have an ounce of creativity in them.

I am 100% certain that I have ADHD and am pursuing an actual diagnosis and some meds, but being undiagnosed and also having a type A personality have led me to many of these coping methods and skills, just in a roundabout manner.
