I discovered this for myself a few months ago. Works like a charm. I now use this method for my IT clients. It's a very common issue.
This is a fascinating solution, but I think getting yourself a USB splitter is better.
I actually know someone this happened to... minutes after picking it up from Best Buy. People are so... untrustworthy.
