I'd add that in addition to the makeup, "looking natural" for me has been the result of spending a LOT of money (and time) on skin care products.

My "natural" look consists of ~$60 foundation, ~$15 powder, ~$40 contour, $26 blush, $14 mascara, eye shadow primer that was a gift, and a $90 eye shadow palette. Also, 30 minutes of deliberation and shooing my cat away from the makeup brushes and/or removing her from perching on my shoulder.
