Well, it was a stress test on their servers to figure out how many people they could connect to a single server. So they found out they can hook about 300,000 people to the current amount of servers they're using for the beta (hell, could be just two or three). Well, with the mass media's track record of this type of thing, they'd swing it the opposite way and say that he was somehow practicing for his mass murder, how they usually do with any games where you can kill others, especially shooters.

If you look on their forums, I believe there's a working multiplayer mod that the community has been working on. It worked decent when I tried it months ago and should be up to par if they're still working on it.

It's awesome how good those are for hangnails. Also, I found that going to get a peticure helps extremely well with an ingrown toenail, and it's usually cheaper than going to a doctor and far less painful.
