Going to enter nerd mode here. That is not really what a holodeck is. It's closer to a true 3D hologram. The holodeck uses "hard light", held together by low intensity force fields to allow the user to actually touch and move things.

I would say that the core franchises haven't changed much, but that's how franchises are supposed to work. I would say their greatest crime is being content with their hugely successful half dozen or so franchises that they already have. Most of the new gameplay is found in things like Wii Play, or as a one off

You forgot Superball Mario from the original Super Mario Land. It's similar to Fireball Mario, but the superball isn't affected by gravity and it can collect coins. Different enough than Fireball Mario to count as its own power I think.

Things taken from American SMB2: Shy Guys, Pokey, Birdo, Mousers, Bob-ombs, Peach's floating ability, Luigi's height and jumping ability... all aspects with a pretty set place in the Mario universe. I'd say SMB2 has earned it's place in Mario canon. Hell, Bob-ombs and Shy Guys are two of the most significant enemy

Over the years, Nintendo has done a few things that I don't love; cartridge over CD in the N64 era, a lack of a DVD player when it clearly has the capability, friend codes, no HD graphics, a poor online service, etc. But it's this way of thinking that makes me a life-long fan. Amazing level design and art style,

Oh, come on. It's a parody of "save the earth" PSAs. That's not TOO bad, it's kind of clever.

I'd rather see Captain John Hart make an appearance on the show personally.

Agreed. Days was a fine game as far as gameplay goes but the story has almost nothing to do with the overall plot of the series. Even the self contained story is pretty stupid, especially since it contains nothing but poorly characterized Organization members. I do see a lot of Axel/Roxas love, but that's about it.

Aw, I thought it was a port of Four Swords Adventures. I should have know better.

It's far to soon to say that they will all be launch titles. Kid Icarus was supposed to be a launch title and it's still not out. Let's say these are... projected launch titles.

When the monsters were originally human, or designed to look like a human, yes, usually.

@Grinning Colossus: There actually stamp collecting... WITHIN TF2. Don't believe me?

@Helis: The shoes take the standard Grenade Launcher slot. And since it's main advantage involves the use of the shields, and they take the sticky launcher slot... you're left with a character with no projectile weapons. That would lead to a true Demoknight class, without only melee and shield attacks. I would say

@ShadowflareXIII: Always is a long time. I would say the problems started around the N64 era. But even then it was only the consoles. The Nintendo portables have always had very strong support from 3rd parties. Of course, that's to be expected when you hold more than 50% of the portable market.

I don't believe that's the case. Walter was saying he would have to invent the machine and send the pieces back through time, NOT disassemble the machine they already had and send those pieces back. This would mean the machine that has already been build would stay where it is, but its creation would happen after

It has DRASTICALLY improved from the first season. Everything from the second season and on has been dynamite. I would recommend giving season 2 a shot, just to see if you feel the change.

Alanis Morissette. Obviously.

It's true that the removal of the game system was the breaking point for the kid, but it's obvious from the reading that he was mentally disturbed. I get why it's labelled as such, but I hate that this will get called a "video game" related crime.

Much as I like Green Lantern as a concept, I can't possibly see this working well as a game. The ring is all about being able to create whatever you imagine with a single thought and it being powered by your strength of will. Any game would restrict that to a limited number of actions.
