I know a lady with an immune disease (scleroderma) who takes chemotherapy drugs for it, and she calls it chemo too. I think when people have these kinds of invisible illnesses, having treatments that have names that convince regular people of the seriousness of their conditions is a way of dealing with the stigma of

Ugh. Yes. I feel a pretty put-off by the fact that she thinks no one knew who Nina Simone was before this mess of a movie came out. That’s just an insult to the massive waves that amazing woman made in her lifetime and after.

I think Zoe should maybe never open her mouth on this subject again. It’s like she’s got a shovel and she wants to keep digging deeper and deeper...

Ah, now I know without getting too much info. Thank you. Maybe that is why they picked actors who seem to be about 10 years older than their characters so they could play older versions of themselves as well. I’m sure they will just give her a couple of grey hairs.

“Height of Dougalness” is an amazing term and I am going to use it forever.

It was a very beautifully done battle scene.

Man, that fight scene was horrific and beautiful. Murtagh was amazing is this episode and it was great imo to see Dougal at height Dougalness. I think this is in the top 2 or 3 episodes of the season.

Ziff-Davis looks like it wants Jezebel and Gizmodo (and why not LifeHacker, Deadspin, etc.) but has no real interest in keeping Gawker itself. I think that would be a smart move. (Also, giving IO9 its independence from Gizmodo again would be great.)

Of course he can. And people can make jokes about it, and let his choices affect how they view him.

I think it's a little creepy to be happy for anyone because they're dating young people

Vermonters generally are happy with Sanders, but that’s an average and Vermont is a small state. A few big donors can skew it pretty easily. The % of Vermonters who donated would be more indicative of a happy constituency.

“making her the first self-made female billionaire”? Oprah (of Oprah fame) and Doris Fisher (GAP founder) were billionaire looooong before Elizabeth Holmes. I think you meant “youngest.”

Tuck them into your bra, in memory of the late, great Cute Overload and its category, Cats ‘N Racks.

Just play and cuddle with them. Touch their feet to get them used to that. Don’t use your hands as toys; hands are for cuddles, toys are for playing. It’s cute when a tiny kitten wrestles your hand, but not so cute when it’s a 12 lbs adult with stiletto claws ripping you to shreds, because they learned that hands are

I had a rescue litter of puppies and OMG it was fun, but it was so much work! The hardest part is keeping everything tidy. It was an amazing experience. You’ll do great. Have fun!

I am going to take in and socialize some stay kittens. I work from home and have the time. They are weaned and we are going to spay mom. Anybody done this before and have tips?

The entire message of the commercial is: “This black guy would be attractive if he weren’t so black. Yay I made him not-black with this product and now he is wonderful!” How can you possibly question if that’s racist?

I’m not sure there’s a hard line. I mean, the theme of the commercial is basically “black people are dirty” - I can’t contort my head into a space where someone doesn’t realize that is racist.
