I think it’s important to at least entertain that the ideal of policing is to make it so that average citizens can lead as comfortable a life as possible, safety-wise. The risks involved are not rudimentary and I think that’s worth acknowledging. Police officers deal with a lot of unsavory, dangerous stuff.

I understand what you are saying but there are many military members and their families who are on food stamps and are treated like shit when they get out of service. Many military members now have to purchase their own uniforms. They get shit on a lot worse than cops.
