You know one thing I have learned is when I talk to the people I thought were the cool kids, they didn't think they were (or they don't want to admit it). It is almost like "cool in high school" has taken on a negative connotation people don't want to associate with themselves.

Yeah, well that is kind of my point—the fact that in our society you have to "suffer a little" to look "as hot as possible". I would definitely argue your idea of 'hot as possible' is heavily influenced by a society that polices women's bodies and advertisement that takes full advantage of any self-consciousness.

Yeah, that is why I said "making" men want them, not giving them what they want. Most women don't 'want' Spanx but are made to feel that they need it.
