We were without a baseball team entirely for thirty-three years, until 2005, when the Montreal Expos, financially strapped, moved to town.”

Just do what I do, close your eyes, pretend you’re in Olympic Stadium in Montreal and envision Tim Raines

I think I know the park you’re talking about, but it’s been a very long time since the activity they engage in there has any resemblance to baseball.

Camden Yards is beautiful.  It’s a shame there’s no major league team to use it.

They haven’t even won yet and their history suggests that they still have the wherewithal to brutally stab the District in the heart by Saturday night.

Or even a short train ride from Washington, DC.

It is going to be a cluster fuck down there if it goes to Game 5. With them setting up security and wanting them to get people in the stadium, shutting down even more roads and it will be raining all day, yeah it is going to be a shit show down there.   I wonder if he was invited or he wanted to go.  I see Trump as a

I’m going to have to disagree about the concept that it’ll be hill staffers at the game this weekend. The average hill staffer is 26 and makes about 45,000 a year in a city that's getting real expensive. Now the lobbyists who make vast sums of money to influence these impressionable 26 year olds is a different story.

Going to a Nationals game is like going to the Epcot version of a baseball game. Why go to every stadium in the league when you can just go to a Nationals game? Before the game enjoy some food from the top vendors of Citi Field. Then get to your seat in time to use the Baltimore Orioles national anthem tradition.

I said to him, getting a little teary-eyed, “I have dreamed for so long about this day, taking a son to a baseball game.”

you on the other hand sound not at all bitter or angry

Your trademark Baltimore Inferiority Complex is showing

Jack Kent Cook blocked Baltimore from getting an NFL franchise for years.

I laughed harder at this episode than anything since....the movie? maybe before that, like season 12, where it had a few shock laughs and some genuinely good jokes (Brockman’s scene and anything Ralph), peppered with a weird celebrity cameo.

I grew up one of three siblings, and its pretty honest how they revert to their childish rivalries at times. You never really outgrow that. Plus The Neverending Story truly fucking rocks.

This was a lot but Joey Can’t Read the Room made me laugh out loud, probably more than it should have.

This definitely felt the most like an old school episode of The Simpsons in a long while. Not a *great* old school episode, sure, but a decent enough one to not bother skipping between stronger cousins. Which, sadly, is now high praise.

I can assure you that the one thing Julie Kavner is not, is broke.

I enjoyed Dawnn Lewis's voicework and the character just driving off at the end was hilariously brutal.

Marge is sounding increasingly like Tom Waits.
