Not sure I agree with you that those women were being "manipulated". It was their choice to participate and as far as I can tell they were not coerced or misled.

The show dipped in quality the last 3 seasons. You could tell the cast was phoning it in those last few seasons as well. The energy level in their performances was definitely lacking.
