You are missing the point. My argument is that even under ideal conditions, a cyclist is unlikely to overtake a vehicle as you suggested in your comment.

I know I’ve said this to you already - forgive me, but it’s more for other people reading the site. If you’re upset because cyclists are moving faster in traffic than you... why not cycle?

If you see more “asshole” cyclists (that aren’t affecting you at all btw but sure, they’re aggravating to watch) than drivers being dicks that’s your bias. I assume you’re getting passed by cyclists every day so you see that behavior. I get passed by drivers every day and every day my life is put in danger at least…

They put their own lives in danger because they cycle and cars are there as well. That’s the unfortunate thing. But if you want all those cyclists to get in cars and make your commute even longer... that’s your prerogative. Just have some respect for people’s lives.

The only time you’ll ever catch me getting any more than annoyed at a cyclist is when they’re on a two lane road with no shoulders, and there’s a greenway literally 4 feet away specifically for bicycle and foot traffic*.

Dude, you should be encouraging better bike infrastructure and city planning to get more people on bicycles, buses, and foot to relieve traffic resulting in you having more of the road, more of the time, to yourself —- so that ultimately, if people want to drive they can do so without being stuck in crippling traffic.
