Not only that, but you have to take into account emissions and engine longevity. As you increase combustion pressures, you increase heat. If you do this, two things will happen:

1.) Your NOx emissions (which are very dependent on EGTs) go through the roof

Reports are that they were doing 80kph when they hit the ground. I’ve gone down at ~45kph and took an ambulance ride (hit my head hard and couldn’t stand without being unstable/notious), so for these guys to continue after hitting the ground at 80kph is astonishing.

Think about it this way: He’s currently worth 6.8 Billion USD. I’m not going to dig up a financial statement on him, but it’s pretty safe to say that he makes tens of thousands of dollars per hour. He spends a LOT of money hanging out in his garage for 2.5 hours a month.
