@martinbutt: I agree with you. It's not the GoDaddy service I'm worried about, it's the overly-testosterone loaded CEO putting skimply-dressed young girls all over his ads. It's a webhost! It is so not appropriate. I don't really want to give my money away to hill-billies, even if it's cheaper.

I love paying $PRICE for items. It's such a bargain!

ummm... why not just type "weather in xxxx" into google search and you get forecasts for next 4 days, temperatures, wind conditions and humidity?

I work for an international scientific research institute in France. We get a total of 56 days off per year. Here's how it's broken down: 8 days are set public holidays, 5 days are set company holidays (over New Years & Xmas), 24 days are standard holidays that you can choose to take whenever you want. We have a

Warning: the last NYTimes article requires an account (albeit a free one) to read the full article.

For some reason Dragon Dictation doesn't exist in the French store. Anyone else notice this in other international stores? It's so annoying that Apple ties me down to the French store when I'm only here for a few years for work!

@John Steele: I agree with your points too. Good experimental design is the ONLY factor which determines whether the produced data answers the question you wanted to be answered. The data itself is not "wrong" or "bad". It was the experimental design, i.e. interpretation of the problem, that was wrong.

"Science is not about what we know, but about how we know. And we know that as we gather more information, we'll have a more accurate view of the way the world works."

@adam.chance: Articles teaching people to get stuff for free (or in this, a very low cost) brings in web traffic. Web traffic brings in $$. For instance Giganews was mentioned 3 times while Astraweb just once even though the latter only has ~1% shorter retention time.

All I read are comments on the effort and self-constraint of people hiding their online identity. Most of the rhetoric sounds like they are proud to be donning this internet burka that have been forced upon us. Can we not decide as a society that, hey guess what?, people get drunk, people make mistakes and people like

Since when has society become so conservative that you get judged professionally just because you are having fun in your private life? As far as I'm concerned, as long as it doesn't affect my work performance, it should not matter. Getting drunk and having a few laughs isn't illegal, except in countries with Sharia

Yea... this thing sure is great until you need to turn. The two fixed wheels at the front would make it rather difficult.

err the last one is a BAD IDEA. Highly dangerous. How about this one? If you are taking a bath and the water starts getting cold, put a toaster oven inside, turn it on and hop inside. All your problems will be solved immediately!

The wording of the article sounds like I only gain life expectancy when I quit smoking. Maybe I should start and then subsequently quit multiple times a year to maximise my gain. gg

@eodelf: The heat from the HDDs probably not the best for the adhesive, no? Velcro fail = hard drive fail. A bit too risky for my liking.

I like the photo by urbanwoodchuck. It's got a real "californication" feel to it. :)

Amazing. Obviously an ex-physics professor at work. :P

how do you prove that the pictures were actually taken on the day that you said? I know there's metadata but that can be easily forged. Using today's "newspaper" as reference just could just imply you are good at finding old newspapers... #renting
