Ha! Kind of. The phone thing was more shocking. Oh, the fact that I grew up with a black and white tv and didn't have a "clicker" until I was 11 or 12 almost broke their minds.

Wren was my first real crush. I saw Footloose far too many times in the theater.

Yep. And now we are in "melting" slush season!

I work with a few people who've been called for counties surrounding Minneapolis. I think a lot of criminal cases plead out here and some civil cases opt for judge trials.

My five year when we do the post-shower turban with her very colorful one fish, two fish towel.

That's unbelievable. Is that still the case if you are not having your first? I know that the one hospital I had a baby at did offer water births so those parents needed an extra class - but it was free. $400 is not pocket change unless you are pretty well-off. That's a week's worth of diapers.

What kind of advice are they giving? I had two kids at two different hospitals and the only mandatory thing was a tour, if you were going to schedule a c-section or induction and knew ahead of time. We paid for a birthing class with the first one and sibling/breastfeeding classes with the second, and never got near

It's so hard when you see what a great kid you have. Ours is one of those kids who has a lot of friends but not that special to-go buddy or buddies. Our guy is also very sweet and innocent - almost feminine in a lot of ways so that adds to the issue because his grade is very sporty and "rough" and he's so very not

God, I could have written this. Keep trying various activities to find his niche. That's what we're doing. Set up play dates whenever you can. And just be there for your little guy. It's not a size thing - it's a kid thing. Good luck.

That's awesome. Congratulations. I hope you have an amazing learning experience.

That last one is perfection. Simple perfection.

It's rape lite! Like light beer or baked Lays - it's sort of like the real thing, but totally different. And completely and utterly shitty.

The match/threat to leave is hard. I know of some people who've done it successfully and others who've been burned. Badly. Plus, you risk alienating the company making the offer you use for leverage.

I negotiated flex time with my last lateral move. I work for a largish multinational corp that gives its mangers a lot of power over schedules. I verified that my hours would be flexible prior to accepting the position. It's not easy and you should speak directly with the hiring manager or your soon to be boss. The

I get to leave at 3! Of course, my reporting chain is two working mothers and I work at night from home -sometimes. But, there are those jobs out there. Really.

I can get 33 BOTA boxes on sale. And those are a damn site (or is it sight?) better than $3 Chuck.

In addition to what people said below about activities, in areas like Denver and Boulder, there is easier access to healthy, fresh food than in a lot of places. Also, I think there is an element of doing what other people do- so if people around you are eating less and/or healthier, you will adopt those habits, too.

Her reluctance is more a product of her age than anything - she's only 5. My son doesn't want to do the scouts because he just doesn't have any interest scouting activities - he's not interested in building, camping, etc. He's more into theater, choir, and wants to learn coding.

But, seriously, how are the cookies?

Oh, I hope we get it. I don't like their meats so this will be something new to try.
