This is not surprising. I work with engineers daily, they always spec out something not entirely possible/available. They create something “perfect”...on paper. Which usually doesn’t translate well to a live finished product.

Jaguar. XJ Supercharged, or an F-Type. Either is certainly available in that price range. Just make sure the water pump has already been replaced, if going with the 5.0 block.
Sounds like you have experience here.
NP all day. 3/4-ton burbans are the shizz. Aside from eating transmissions around 100K miles, any Suburban is fairly bulletproof.
Agreed.
I don’t know if IT is going to be a Corvette or a Cadillac, and am happy to wait until they decide to say something official on whatever IT is.
But rest assured, I’m going to happily laugh my ass off when it’s not a Corvette, just because of all the blustering and hysteria among the Jalopnik staff, that it is a vette.
Gawd, I hate H-town swangaz.
Currently driving a 2014 Jag XJR, and it doesn’t have a dipstick. It’s one of the hardest things for me to get comfortable with.
Agree. I enjoyed the one with the mustang, but the others... meh.
CP. Too high since it hasn’t kept it’s original specialty parts and paint scheme.
The water pump on the current gen XJ is a known problem, but mine had already had that replaced. The other issue is some flimsy coolant line/tube on an inaccessible part of the motor. Very costly to repair. Luckily I haven’t had the issue yet, but reading through the owners forums, I see it’s a bitch when you have to…
Is that you Elon?
Wasn’t the initial announcement of this car a Superbowl commercial? No bigger audience than that.
That’s exactly what I did. Bought a Jag in August. Now my seatbelt retractor is broken, and I live in constant fear of a well known coolant leak issue on the back of the engine. A K900 driver has no such worries, and I bet his seat belt works too. But I look better driving down the road.
Never been a fan of this model. Couldn’t warm to the look at all.
So, I can’t think of a reason to own this, but the list price is NP I think. If you were in the market. Armoring a vehicle ain’t cheap, so if you have the need, then here you go.
Any thoughts on sending someone to hang out and report from the Texas Mile events, held in March and October each year? Fun group of folks running flat out for three days, in every sort of automotive pleasure. I enjoyed running my newly acquired Jaguar XJR there a couple weeks ago.
There was one of these in that music video for the Mystery Men soundtrack back in the early 2000's.
You should move. Democracy is not for you.
That last paragraph is your folly here. There’s no way a Harbor Freight portable garage is going to prolong further advent of rust.
Good luck on your adventures. I’d like to see you rid of all the multitude of messes that distract from one another, and do a series of writings on one full resto from start to finish.…
