True. However a variable is always a variable until something is assigned to it. Meaning, 7 billions people jump, the result is X... One person jumps, the result is X. Yes logically there is a difference, but we don't know what it is. so the end result is exactly the same.

The only reason they bought this is for lawsuit reasons. Now think of this though, how far can you stretch the definition of the term "trackpad" I think that's why they thought this patent is worth having.
