100% this. Emmit Till comes to mind. But we will never know the full number of black men and women who have died because of false accusations at the hands of white folks. To this day that tally is still rising.

My biggest annoyance with this story is the total lack of acknowledgment of the history of white women falsely accusing black men of rape and then getting random black men killed because of their lies.

This is just a point of clarification:

What city was he in that he couldn’t locate a single black person over a span of 5 days searching? And followup, if his friend was raped by a black person in that city where black people are so rare how then hard would it be for police to solve the crime by simply knocking on the doors of all 3 black residents and…

I am actually much happier to read that she is struggling with balancing these completely understandable feelings than before, where it just seemed like she was concerned with how hard this whole thing is FOR HIM. I was nervous to read this given her previous statements but it was much more nuanced than I expected.
