Well, the most effective kind of hype is hype built up by the fans.
Any trailers or gameplay demo's or interviews can never live up to the expectations and imaginations of a rabid fanbase.

Valve have done a lot of teasing however.
Gabe Newell himself has done a whole lot of teasing about Half Life 3, never saying it

They are incredibly well crafted games, and I have no doubt at all that Valve have the skill to create another equally if not more fantastic experience!

But there are a lot of people online that leave comments about how it can't possibly live up to expectations for all the fans that are craving it, when I think all

Just a small note, but I find it strange how many people talk about Half Life 3 being a let down after all the hype.

Because after all the build up it can't possibly loo good enough, or play good enough to live up to the years of expectation behind it.

Honestly, I could not care less if Half Life 3 came out and it

One thing to keep in mind, is that even if he was genuinely uncertain turning it into some kind of joke isn't a valid response.

Obviously comedians are prone to make jokes about things of the sort, which is fine in the correct circumstances.
But this was a gaming event, and for me gaming is an inclusive thing.

It's not

We were lying in bed together and Dan tapped me on the shoulder and woke me up and went, “Pigs fucking human corpse.”
"Yeah, that's a great addition to the game!"
"Oh, yes... the game..."
*zips up*

A few of the animations looked very off to me, but hopefully that's something that will be cleaned up a bit before release.

Also, the editing makes it kind of hard to tell if the section following the elevator is directly after the chainsaw sequence or not.
If so than the character certainly seemed to make a very speedy

So what started the whole "oh my" thing?
I've seen/heard it plenty but I don't think I've ever come across the original that started it off.

I think that Attack on Titan is very clever with it's pacing.
It alters it's focus every few episodes, keeping intensity up but changing the areas that intensity comes from.

It seems to me that there is a few episodes that are relentless action, constantly keeping up the intensity through physical action and physical

I'm pretty firmly leaning towards PS4, but I think the rumble functionality of the Xbox One's controller actually sounds really cool.
I'm slightly skeptical of how well it might work, but if it works well it could be one of those small elements that really adds a to an experience.
Having analogue sticks or triggers

It would be quite cool if they added an option for both the radio and the map onto the phones.
So that if you want to listen to the radio without being in a vehicle you can, and so that you can turn off the minimap completely without having to go into the pause menu to get your bearings.

I really like that you can still

Oh, you're making me blush!

Doesn't creating a video game require the use of multiple mediums purely in it's conception?
The script for Dear Esther could mostly likely stand perfectly well on it's own as a piece of literature.
It could have been in the medium of audio, requiring only the script and the reading, for people to treat it like an radio

It's an amazing experience for a game to create!
As somebody who (wants to) draw for a living I'm slightly ashamed I didn't think of it myself!

It was a beautiful game!

The interactivity was a massive part of making Journey as special as it is.
If you were watching a film, two characters cheeping at each other and you not having any clue what either was saying wouldn't be that entertaining.
They would either have to give a voice and dialogue to one of the characters or make the cheeps

I'd love to see more people doing stuff like this.
Especially considering 90% of advertising (especially in film) give away far more plot than necessary at the moment.

Reminds me of the Last of Us trailer that made it look like Ellie was going to shoot Joel.
I saw loads of people saying they had given away the ending

I also hate the idea of being stabbed slowly. Especially with a fairly blunt knife.

Imagine your stomach just being pushed in like somebody is poking you, but the force keeps building and eventually the pointed end of the knife punctures the flesh.
So it foes from very uncomfortable and fairly painful jab to the flesh

I also suppose theres a lot of difference in the gun and the knife being used.
I'm sure a serrated knife would hurt a whole hell of a lot more than a flip blade, just like I imagine a shotgun would hurt more than a little pistol.
I really do know very, very little about guns though so I can't say I know anything about

I think it's more to do with a bullet being more instantaneous.
I imagine if somebody shoots you, there is no specific feeling of puncture.
More just going from not in pain, to suddenly there is a bullet inside you and you are in extreme pain.

More like being punched so hard something went inside you and something sharp

I actually prefer the idea of getting shot than stabbed.
May be stupid, but something about it seems less unpleasant to me.
