Oh man you just flashed my ass back to 7th grade in the best possible way. That dragon was dope. I spent many hours in class doodling him.

No, I know, but the vibe those 2 weather-beaten, worldly-wise actors give is juuuuuust right. David Carradine would have been dope as well. Ah, David Carradine.

Agreed. I always saw Haymitch as lanky and cantankerous, kind of like a Scott Glenn or Sam Shephard type. MMMMMM....Sam Shephard. Paula Malcomson is the only genuinely good casting news yet to come out of this project. I heart Trixie 4-eva!

Watched Pillars of the Earth twice!! Didn't even like the book! Watched it twice! Spartacus is next in line on the queue! What the hell is the matter with us!!?!11!

...aaaaaand what's on right now, thanks to this discussion thread? 'The Craft.'

My problem with NSS is it's totally negating the superior attitude I had cultivated about not having our cable turned on for the past 7 years. I'll be, all, "Oh, we don't have tv," and then I'll be, all, "Ooh, but I totally watched 'Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love,' 'Queen of the Damned' and 'First Knight' yesterday while

Man, where have you been!! You need to start trolling through the 'Search' function - you never know what kind of mid- to low-grade 90s movies will come up!

Watched it twice already, once by myself (which was for the second time anyhow) and once with the husband...and then backed it up to watch the scene again where Woodchuck Todd debuts and is frantically gnawing on a log. And then watched that scene a third time.

Thirds here.

w00t! bring on the clash!

I think some of the younger characters have been a bit oldificated to create audience appeal. Dany's s'posed to be 14 too!

Nicely put!

THE OTHERS!!! It all comes full circle

Epic epicness!

I'm aware of character building, as I've read all of the books. As I said below, both the show and the books are slow, which is a good thing!

The books are slow. So is the show. Slow is not bad - I happen to think it's good and indicates thoughtfulness about pacing and character...BUT I could tell the people I was with were starting to worry. I'm hoping they hang in there!

Loved it. Slow, measured, sure, but loved it. It looks exactly like what I thought it would and the few bits that didn't were so well done anyway that I didn't get bent about it. Watched it with people who didn't know the books and I frankly can't tell if they liked it or not...but they are the sort who knew to get

wait - i can do an on-demand download online without ordering hbo for my tv? wot is dis magics?

Touche!

This sounds so boring I almost can't handle it, even with CJA's sassy critique.
