This is due in large part to the laws being written to address pachinko, card games and so forth. I suspect that video games were lumped in with pachinko machines legally once they became ubiquitous.

That would make it a very costly reference then, in that if you weren’t in on it, it makes your show seem to take a narrative nosedive.

Though, it’s just my opinion. Plenty of people disagree. On balance though, I still think it was worth my time.

I agree. That said, I don’t regret watching it. There was some nice value in the first half to three-quarters.

That was what I found so odd about watching it. I was expecting a ton of fan-service, but when I actually watched it, I felt that the show almost never used titillating content for its own sake. It was always to make some point about the characters, or the setting, or human sexuality, or puberty. I went in expecting

These mechs skate, if by skate you mean slide along the ground.

I envy you. I gave the show a try when I kept reading how it was actually not the hyper-sexualized anime schlock it seemed to be... and it wasn’t. I was surprised at how thoughtful it actually was at times. Then you get to the last fourth, and the show pulls the ol’ ‘villain switcharoo’ on you. Unfortunately, the

Oh I know. :) Even if it were piss-poor I’d probably buy it for that reason alone.

I mean, that’s what I’m saying, doesn’t seem likely. On the other hand, I’ve seen enough “impossible” things happen in the industry in the last ten years to never say never. Maybe someday...

I wouldn’t say I’m totally sold, but when am I ever going to get another Armored Core game?

“Who is to judge what is right and what is wrong? Great and powerful foes surround us; unknown miscreants gnaw at us from within. We are threatened with total annihilation. In days such as these we can afford no luxury of morality.”

He seems like such a good guy, and I really admire his bravery. He’s a more courageous guy than I am, that’s for sure.

I’ll be laughing. Because I just want to watch the world burn.

I... really don’t think he’s saying anything like that. He’s saying that, if Cruz is going to politicize this movie, that’s his right, but he’d prefer it if you talked about the people involved, who he views as heroes, first.

I think you’ve lost perspective.

Spending a few days in Osaka next year. Suggestions, anyone?

Man, Kuze was so goddamn cool.

I will have to check it out!

You’re good enough for me, buddy.

One caveat: if I’m not mistaken, Bernadetta wasn’t kidnapped by ‘her parents’ and sent to Gerreg Mach, she was bundled away by ‘her mother’ and sent to Gerreg Mach. I think the implication here is that her mother sent her to Gerreg Mach to get her away from her father and around other people, to give her some chance
