That... is pretty well written. Bravo!

Believe it. I waited three weeks before I pulled the trigger on this, and those are 21 days of my new, 20XX-enriched life wasted. Goddamn this is a good Megaman X game.
This makes me feel sad I just brought back two super famicoms from Japan...
You realize there’s a difference between, say, jaywalking and murder, right? Yes, of course it would be different for a different crime. Welcome to the U.S. Justice system. We treat people differently at all stages of the justice system depending on what they’ve done.
Is it bad if I say yes, but substitute Alabama for Maine?
So far as i know, everyone does say those things about white poverty. You hear it every day. Except the culture of poverty one. I honestly wasn’t sure where the comic was going till then, because you hear the other three all the time about the poor in general. A lot of white folks seem to have a problem with black…
An old bookshelf that I bought and never assembled has now become sort of a defacto shrine to my Japan trip. :)
Yeah, there’s stuff I’ll miss, and some stuff I won’t miss. Like, the first thing I did when I got back was drive to Whataburger at midnight and park myself next to the soda fountain. But I find myself thinking about it all the time, now. It was very clean, and safe, and restful. And beautiful. More beautiful even…
If it weren’t for the space constraints, buying statues would’ve bankrupted me, but I ended up not buying a single one. Oddly, I think there are far more anime statue shops in Aki than any other kind of store by about 2:1, including electronics, gaming, and manga. Even more than porn.
Frequent flyer miles. Seriously. After two years of saving them up, I didn’t have to pay for the plane ticket, and 10 of the 15 days I stayed there were also covered.
It’s not as impossible as it may seem. My friends and I saved frequent flyer miles from our credit cards for two years. By the time I went, I didn’t have to pay for the plane ticket, and only paid for around 20% of lodging. It’s just a matter of planning over a long period of time.
That’s awesome! Now if we could only get one in Texas...
Really? Fascinating. If I’m ever in the area on business, I’ll be sure to make a point of stopping in.
There was also an extremely bad-ass looking Berserk pachinko machine up there that I kind of lost my shit over. Unfortunately you cannot see it in the video.
Aki was very different than what I expected. I thought that the retro stores would be like, the size of a large Gamestop here in the US, but, Japan. Even the very famous stores are quite small. I also expected the selections to be far more comprehensive, but the actual experience of trying to close out my buy list…
Book Off (as a whole) was hands-down my favorite store I visited during my time in Japan. I did find several titles at good prices in other locations, I was just pissed that the Akihabara location was too lazy to price their Super Famicom games appropriately. And my God... the 100Y manga section. I went to Japan…
I went to Japan in July, and most of my time in Tokyo was spent combing through various retro gaming shops, trying to find everything on my buylist. A quick run-down:
Yeah, but it was a *really* good mod!
Or, y’know, some people might like this way better.
