I still just don’t get it. Maybe I never will? I must be like the only person I know who really liked that game. In fact, I beat it, which for me is a rarity these days. It was only afterward that I found out it had a bad rep. And, I can’t think it’s simple fanboyism, I’m known for being critical or even overly harsh

Welcome to not understanding ai programming.

I respect that headline sir.

Do you want things to get better, or do you want to get mad? When someone gets down on their knees and admits they’re wrong, you have to be big enough to help them back to their feet again. If you don’t, why would anyone change their minds?

If it makes you feel any better, I too now feel inadequate compared to your father. :)

And nobody who works in software is surprised. At my company, we’ve found that even something as small as sitting directly across from one another, but having an eye-level screen between you makes collaboration harder. Unless you can literally swivel in your chair and talk to someone, there is always a collaboration

Last month some friends and I went to Hiroshima to visit the Peace Memorial Park and Museum.

So until last month i had only read up until volume 18 or so. I can see why this series goes on break so often now. I always thought Miura was a pretty fair artist, but after the Mozgus arc up to now, the quality of his drawing is... inhuman. Some of these panels must take days to draw, and against all odds his art

If anything it follows the manga *too* closely. TV and manga are different formats and you can’t just turn one into the other panel for panel and expect the result to be good. The pacing of the show is bizarre because they try to cram every panel in instead of choosing to include only what makes sense for the show.

Guts continues to grow and change. If that appeals to you it’s definitely worth reading.

No no, those are features, not bugs. Japanese has the *best* language-based puns and double meanings ever because of the large range of nuance and differing connotation that the kanji have. And true, their “past tense” works differently than ours (being more based on whether something is finished or not), but that’s

Currently posting from Kyoto. As it turns out, our house is only a few minutes walk from Fushimi-inari shrine. Today we went partway up, but turned back after a long detour up the mountain past many graveyards. Because the gion matsuri is tomorrow, and it was Sunday, it was very busy. We plan to go back before dawn in

Just in time, three days to go! We will try to do all of these things! We were already going to do Fushimi Inari, but now I definitely want to check out that cafe as well. In a way, just wandering is what I’m looking forward to the most.

As a long-time dwarf fortress alum, rather than scaring me away, I am now only more interested. :)

Never heard of it. But you’ve got my attention.

Maybe I’m imagining this, but I really thought I also ran into a lesbian troll at some point this expansion.

He probably will. Partially because they asked McGregor to box instead of Mayweather to do MMA. If it had gone the other way, the odds would be very different (not necessarily reversed.) There’s a reason we don’t pit basketball players against hockey players for the title of “best athlete.”

This is one of those trick questions: it is never too late to call off the wedding. But after the wedding, it is always too late to not get yourself into a marriage you are going to regret for years, decades, or the rest of your life.

Awesome! We are dividing our trip between Kyoto and Tokyo as well. In Kyoto we’ll be renting a house, and in Tokyo, we’re staying in a fairly standard business hotel.

Used my points to book a round-trip flight to Japan in three weeks, and also pay for 2/3 of the hotel stays. If you’re patient and save up frequent flyer points, with this card or another, it’s quite feasible for even people of modest means to travel abroad every few years.
