Jason!! I LOVE the i3 (just bought one of the last 50 or so coming to the US), but man don’t recommend the REX version! 90% of the issues on the i3 FB group are with that gas generator. A year ago I’d have recommended a 2017/2018 BEV (mid-size battery) for ~$18k, but they’ve now in the low 20s unless you get a

BMW made one, the i3, and it’s fantastic.  None of that piano black shit, 10 programmable buttons for whatever you want them to be (I’ve got one that jumps directly to tire pressures, the rest satellite radio stations), physical controls for HVAC, seat warmers, etc.   The screen is there for stuff you need a screen

yeah that didn’t work on the BMW i3 lease I returned 2 months ago. RV was $31k, which helped to keep the payments low but I always knew would be WAY above market value. Which is currently around $22-$23k for a loaded, non-S 2018 i3. Maybe a couple thousand more than a year ago but still nowhere near the RV.

hopefully will have a fully sorted oil system. My brother’s C8 lost oil pressure at 750 miles driving sedately on the street, now getting a new motor installed.

pending inspection, NP! We bought a popup a few months before COVID hit, and have used it in various TX state parks 15 times. Nice because the Town and Country easily tows it (added rear helper springs), and so far has escaped the HOA’s wrath parking it in the driveway. I do tend to curse if having to setup/break down

“Modified Razors” group on Facebook has a bunch of info but basically you’ll want a brushless motor, controller, and throttle and Lithium Ion battery. If the bike/rider is light 36V is fine, but if for a quite speedy machine 48V is the ticket. I have this motor/controller combo, with a 48V 15Ah Li-ion pack (the 14Ah

or, a used Razor MX500 motorcycle for ~$250 off FB Marketplace, or better yet less if the stock SLA batteries are dead, +$150 for a 48V LiOn battery, +$10 for a potentiometer to limit top speed (will be ~25mph ungoverned) and your kid will have just as much if not more fun.

Now playing

we have different definitions of “beginner bike” :)

My 2018 BMW i3 lease ended in June, so in ~April I started shopping for used ones. Found that ones in the spec I wanted (2018, non-black or white, non base interior) were $23k+, and I could buy a brand new 2021 with bigger battery and full warranty for only ~$7k more with $11k corporate discount, $7.5k fed rebate, and

Technically it’s only on sale in the US for the rest of July, but I’m going with the BMW i3.

I’m getting 0% APR on a 2021 BMW i3 loan. Why take money out of savings/investments when a free (or nearly) free loan is available?

I share you love of a solid malted milk, and want to try the Malta, but prefer Carnation over Ovaltine

or for about the same amount of money you could have paid a lawn crew to bring a trailer load of mulch directly to your house. ;)

Any two monstrously oversized SUV or pickup trucks.

you’re shopping for the wrong car.

ha, first thought was i3. Funkiest car around. A 2018 will run ~$20k (2019's with a slightly larger battery pack are still closer to $30k) or you can get a brand new 2021 for under $30k with full warranty, larger battery and the completely awesome “Galvanic Gold”. I have an i3s with a few options (giga interior,

interior does look great.  Sad it only comes in dark black tho.

no doubt.  I just like the upright, funky Soul form.  Anyway, going to buying a 2018 BMW i3 when my i3s lease is up next month.

meh.  More interested in the Soul EV.

ha, in college we converted a Festiva to electric for the Tour Del Soul competition. Stock transmission so still 3 pedals. There’s nothing a Festiva can’t do!
