I'm basing this from Josh Topolosky, claiming that the keypad is dead and many of his followers agreed. I guess you don't need numbers when you're job is to blog.

THATS WHY Mac users were saying that the keypad is dead, they don't have one. I work in engineering and I use that damn keypad at least once every 30 minutes. Anybody that works with numbers for a living uses their number keypads.

Lately these type of articles are pretty common. They believe everything that some blogger in a tiny apartment in NYC does should apply to everyone in the world. Its annoying.

Nothing runs /fine/ on the iPad1.

I went from the 4 to the 4S because frankly it only cost me $18 to upgrade after selling my iPhone4. I can tell you the upgrade is not a disappointment.

Damn, you bring up an excellent point.

Doesn't this apply to everything that has a new edition every year? Especially in the mobile market, where nothing amazing comes out every year, it's just upgrades from previous tech.

I just hate that when I'm using it to find something I have to pay too much attention to the screen to find out where I'm going, but then again I only use the maps app.

You said it yourself.

Gizmodo does not get any early Apple devices, just take a note when they get to review iPhones and iPads and its after they're for sale to the public.

Splashtop, get the app on the app store and download the client from there website, then install it on your PC and watch the magic happen.

I've been tethering my iPad to my iPhone since the ipad2 came out. Before that I was tethering my 3G to my laptop since the 3G iPhone had a jailbreak. No letter yet, but that's because I don't abuse it like some idiots.

"scum bag apple uses free software.... doesn't give credit"

IMHO, the iPhone needs a larger screen in order to be good at anything navigation.

10% per half hour, your phone is defective. Simple as that.

There's some reports and even the maker of another set of maps is saying that its their maps. So, I think that might still be undetermined.

Certain countries still have Google maps I believe.

Most likely, but native embedded maps are the best way to go. There's dozens of things that would never work on a separate app.

Not being a dick, but how can you determine how to use a device and at what distance if you don't own one?

do you own an iPad?
