Basically the law is designed to make doctors refuse to perform abortions because of the cumbersome, ridiculous, and illegal hoops they’d be forced to jump through. There’s no way they could run a viable practice and do this for to even one patient, so they just will quit doing them at all.

I desperately want a shirt that says ‘Jesus take the wheel and the lube’...

That’s what I don’t get. Like, and then what? Do we see if she’s aborted too many female fetuses? Then you have to figure out if she did it on that factor?

I got a sneak peak at the investigation form the Arkansas GOP recommends doctors use to comply with this law:

Not to mention that circumcisions are carried out on newborn babies, almost always without anesthesia — because doctors always said the (newborn, totally viable) babies didn’t really feel it much.

Thank the Lord for this! Now, can someone in Arkansas finally introduce a law that forces doctors to investigate a man’s entire sexual history and determine his motives for wanting to maintain an erection for up to (but hopefully not longer than, eek!) four hours before he is permitted to get a Viagra prescription?

how would this even work? Have doctors in Arkansas been making notes in patient charts like “abortion requested because fetus was female”? Why would you even tell your doctor, if that was your reason for wanting an abortion? This is a very dumb law.

Right, because every voter north of the Mason Dixon line voted blue, is not racist, sexist and/or homophobic.

So confused, and horrified, but let’s focus on confused. I investigate a woman’s pregnancy history and find out: 1. That she’s had 20 million abortions and one conviction for eating fetuses, 2. That she’s never been pregnant before, 3. That she’s had 3 healthy children, 4. That she’s actually a Martian. Okay, WTF do I

This stuff isn’t a Southern thing. It’s a conservative thing. There’s a helluva lot of non-far-right people in the South. There are a lot of bigoted far-right shitheels in the North and Midwest. Your comment is just illustrating your own prejudices and that’s not something you should broadcast.

I’d guess we’ll probably just see fewer doctors willing to perform abortions for fear of the Inquisition coming after them. Which is what the GOP wants anyway. Fear, hate, control, and death by back-alley abortions.

Setting aside the privacy aspect, what would the doctor actually be looking at? Other than a past history of aborting female fetuses or something, which wouldn’t necessarily be apparent if this is the first time, I don’t see how a doctor could know why a woman is getting an abortion from her past medical history.

I’m finding it harder and harder to overlook anything Ivanka says and does. The idea of her representing the US at a women’s empowerment summit in Germany makes me both angry and embarrassed. She seems to want to be taken seriously as a leader on various women’s issues — the woman who said and did nothing, who says

There is no way this withstands legal challenges. It’s not only an invasion of privacy, but it’s an imposition on medical professionals. Doctor’s job is not to “investigate”. This is the kind of “oppressive regulation” Republicans claim to be against.

I think they are at the stage where they have to retroactively pretend like this is what they wanted. There’s a certain subreddit that is exclusively under the control of the President’s supporters, and there’s a certain mania to some of the posts that I’ve read there. I won’t go so far as to say that they secretly

1. I think this little Ivanka show is yet another way to have us look in another direction while they fuck over America. Like hey look over here at Ivanka, while we sell out the country. Not sure what it is, but it will eventually come to light.

Tiffany doesn’t give him a boner. He’d know.

“hi america, i heard you were concerned about the unofficial nature of my role and the implications of nepotism. i wanted to clear up those concerns by verifying them and becoming an employee of the government. buy my products!” ivanka, 3/29/17

It’s kinda funny how our society has so much sympathy for the guy who can’t get laid, but it’s basically the worse to suggest he put any fucking effort into his appearance at all to attract a woman.

My advice as not only an avid reader and from working in a library (which buys your books so people can borrow for free, and if they are good enables you to write more books or stories) so here it is.
