@DoctorDynamite: I had a similar problem recently, but only on games of a certain age. Old games, fine, same with brand new ones, but if it was a couple of years old the computer would just shut down after 10 minutes or so. Tracked it down to my nvidia card settings - I had to tell it to 'let the 3D application…
