Great now I HAVE to watch this movie, there goes my morning.

First thing I thought of
All the same shit from the past decade on shitty hardware.
You're right, Microsoft and Sony did have a great showing, its just that Nintendo's performance blew them out of the water. Anyone who thinks that MS and Sony won't take a similar approach next e3 is delusional.
*cough*Halo Master Chief Collection *cough*
As someone who still isn't convinced that I should invite a Xbox One into my home, I will say that I was far more impressed with Microsoft's presentation than I was last year.
You're completely right, Nintendo's winning of e3 was primarily because of how unprecedented their approach was to this years event. Its like if your boring old grandpa drove up in a Porsche, full of hookers and blow. Sure it's super cool and unexpected in the moment, but tomorrow he has to go back to the old folks…
BG &E 2 is, sadly, Ubisoft's Last Guardian
Its fitting that he looks like a south asian Mario.
Hey, worked for the 3ds
Finally, my exhaustive search to find a gamer lazier than I is over.
Well that is pretty much exactly how other publishers make money from free to play. It's free to play, not free to have access to everything. Like I said in an earlier comment I don't think that Nintendo would make a ftp game "pay-to-win" but look at this article here from 2011:
I don't see how ftp is out of the question. The mobile arena has already shown that ftp maybe be the most profitable gaming space. And being ftp the price would be right to keep people interested and servers populated.
Either way I don't imagine that'll have a retail release, and frankly with a guaranteed player base, they could easily make 5 levels, charge another 20 for 5-10 more and make way more money. Look at games like Dota and hearthstone to see how successful a decent ftp model can be, and then imagine Nintendo doing it…
I am really hoping it's free to play in a TF2 way. Both the Xbox1 and the Ps4 have their share of ftp titles, even the 3ds does, but it's a type of game that the Wii U is lacking. Couple it with purchasable cosmetic items and amiibo compatibility and they could have a real money maker on their hands.
I feel like Ubisoft gets a lot of undue flak for their treatment of the Wii U in this regard. They really have tried to be nice to Nintendo, and had last years e3 been as fist pumpingly awesome as this years, they would be more supportive. But the fact is that Ubi made tough decisions that made business sense - after…
Oh, good. I was afraid that we'd make it through an e3 without a major company making a major fuck up. Also, you might not want to say that there's no "switch to flip" to right this perceived wrong, I remember that line not working for another company recently.
I imagine THQ was busy dying and having nothing to do with this, seeing as the only reason it exist is because Nintendo approached Kamiya to fund the game. You sure you're not trying to make uninformed comments on the Devil's Third article?
