I thought we did, though? Like that woman who miscarried and they found out she had drugs in her system?

I went to high school in Texas and they do not teach sex ed AT ALL. Thank god I had health class in elementary and middle school (fifth and seventh grades, respectively) in Minnesota where we fully discussed it in class and even watched a video of childbirth (very frightening for a 12-year-old, I might add). When my

Impressively, Texas and Albama managed to score F minuses, due to their incredibly high teen pregnancy rates, incredibly bad sex education, refusal to fund family planning efforts, rejection of Medicaid expansion, their commitment to making abortion as hard as possible to get, and, somehow—this must be totally

I can vouch for the bad sex education in Alabama. All we got was "you'll get aids!" and "Sex has a price tag"...even tho I went to an IB high school that was at the time rated #1 in the country. Ended up using plan b as my regular birth control and not using condoms. It's only by the grace of god I never got pregnant.

COMPLETELY agree..and I was a 4H shooting sports club leader for many years, grew up hunting and participated in shooting competitions.

Yes! Let's promote and glamorize killing shit! USA USA! Guns in every home! What could possibly go wrong?

Ah another article about guns that further convinces me that the gun is essentially the American Crucifix. Guns purpose is to maim and kill, period. Yet too many worship the gun and think it holy. I wonder if their descendants will be the ones worshipping the bomb in the 2nd Planet of the Apes movie.

My senior year photo or am I running away to join ISIS? You decide!

Except nobody dies playing football...oh wait...

I don't get gun people. Why can't there just be one place you don't bring your gun? Why is that so hard?

It is so insane! The child is nine freaking years old. But I get the sense that this isn't just about cultural differences or the current american tendency toward helicopter parenting, so much as it's about this woman being black. Call me crazy ...

If this mother stayed home with her child, she'd be blasted for not having a job.

I'm not saying the park is unsafe. I'm saying that police could be providing community service, patrolling and keeping people safe, and actually serving the population-at-large.

Or a country that has affordable, high quality child care.

Whose to say the park is unsafe? Not everywhere is riddled with criminals waiting to steal children. How about we allow parents to make decisions about parenting?

Dude. That is so crazy. It's like, I dunno, you think the police should provide community service in the communities they serve. So strange. Are you taking LSD?

You know, I had this crazy thought.

I suppose we'll have to add "Parenting While Black" to the list of offenses that warrant having your whole life turned upside down.
