Well, I don't know about Imola, but there is such a thing in Holland at Zandvoort. You can drive a Gallardo around the track (not a Balboni unfortunately). It is part of a so called "race experience" in which you drive several cars on the track (including a formula car) and on a skid pad.

I'm not that well versed in turn of the (previous) century cars, but they look like stripped down model T's to me.

As many have said, a 4x4, but I think that an older Land Rover Discovery in Camel Trophy trim looks especially bad-ass.

All this talk about getting cars handed down though the family is making me envious! My family was/is not into cars that much, so I guess I have to start that tradition! I'm thinking maybe a nice 240Z or an Alfa Guilia/GT Junior, to fix up myself and share with the family :).

Fortunately those were not real Z8's. Just bodypanels on cobra kitcar chassis, because the movie (the filming of it at least) preceded the release of the car.

"With *massive* roadhugging Yokohama 16" tyres"

There is one left, the Dutch national car museum found one, in a derelict, but original shape(except for the wheels) in Eastern Russia.

Well it's not that he was bad, but he was just not interesting. It looked like he was not really interested in the interview, etc. The other 2 were far more likeable in the interview, being much more enthousiastic. But that is just my opinion of course ;)

I agree, the car chase could have been much, much better, if they did it in the style of a normal challenge, i.e. the guys taking it seriously. The scripted segment it became was IMHO cringeworthy.

Because that decorative plate is a shield ;)

A smart is RWD and rear engined, so the wheels make sense. Also, by using Top Gear logic, it's a 911 :P (or a Beetle)

Good question actually, I was about to post "with an airport tug as usual". But then you'd still be pulling 60+tons of aircraft trough soft concrete + the tug might get stuck as well. Also by looking at the picture of the main gear, they are damaged. (the struts are supposed to be vertical). Perhaps the concrete is

Not neccesarily, I've just did a similar training to the Junior Officer's, albeit for a Boeing 737-800 and not an Airbus.

Was it ever gone then? I don't know about the US, but here in Europe the I4 is in nearly every car that isn't a premium or luxury car. What is the most common engine in de US? V6, V8?

I was thinking the same, also maybe they balanced speed vs. range (although 189 mph is hardly a compromise), to get the promised 366 miles on a charge?

It does seem to have the turning circle of a rather large boat.

Yeah, KLM does, their A330's are named after famous squares, i.e. Place de la Concorde, their 747's are named after cities, i.e. Atlanta, Dubai, their MD-11's after famous women, Madam Curie, Mother Theresa, etc and their 777 after national parks and wold heritage sites.

Nice videos but waaaaaay to heavy on the music. This is how a car video should be done:
