In Starfleet ‘flagship’ is really just a gold sticker that says ‘our most favoritest of ships’. Its fleets are just ‘here’s a bunch of ships’. Which is fine! Starfleet’s not supposed to be a military navy. They fill that role but that’s not what they’re designed to be.

I’m glad to see this show getting another shot. Sure it’s geared towards kids but I think it had potential so I’m looking forward to it.

My thought on this sort of thing is that in a videogame, its perfectly acceptable to make the story more than 2 hours long, and thus put more substance and detail into it.  Immersion might also kick the perceived quality up a few notches.

I think the whole “is it possible to get along?” question is not getting any easier to answer. Increasingly awful people are getting increasingly good at getting “their guys” in positions of authority.

Indeed. He used Westerns as an example, but it kind of undermines his point. Westerns were the biggest genre in movies for a long while, but they did taper off as people moved on to other genres and looked for new types of stories. Yeah, as much as I think “superhero fatigue” is overblown ballooey, blaming “collective ADHD” of kids these days is even worse nonsense. Kids today are perfectly able to sit through a movie. So are people with ADHD, by the way, if the movie is good enough.
