If only the poor could play-act and have it glorified as art. I wanted to like this but it left me rolling my eyes.

Yeah, I thought Cindy Sherman imediately when I saw theze, and Cindy Sherman's woork is I dunno, deeper? Less clichéed? Of course I'm not being totally objective, since I'm a Cindy Sherman fangirl here so...
These pictures kind of remind me of this scene from The Royal Tenenbaums:
I like the idea, but her poses are so unnatural, as if she's almost winking at the camera. I hate to compare her to Cindy Sherman, because their mission is so different, but I prefer the way Cindy loses herself in her work.
Not pissed whatsoever. Just wondering why you're attacking everyone who didn't understand your unfunny, clunky comment.
Yeah, I hate being in the sun. I get headaches and start dripping sweat in two minutes flat.
Anytime someone contributes to a conversation about children with any tidbit about their "furbabies" sensible people tune out. We get it, you love your dogs. They are not, and will not ever be analogous to human children, so just stop.
Hey didn't you know Sony can do no wrong?
Uh, dude, there's a pretty fucking gigantic difference between the consensual sex depicted in "hot coffee" and this, which is a depiction of rape.
Adele's songs lack pathos, IMO. "Someone Like You" is a perfectly lovely sad love song. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that song. It could be the backing song in any breakup scene in any movie. If you've broken up with someone you slightly cared for, it will resonate.
Amy was ten times the artist that Adele will ever be. Adele has a great voice but she has no technical training and will fry her vocal chords before long. Her lyrics leave me cold and her musical arrangements suck balls. Plus, every Adele song gets old after three listens and then I want to rip my ears out every time…
Please God no. Maybe she'll get knocked up again and go away and I won't be subjected to another year of shitty lyrics and forced, over-emoting singing.
To me there is no difference in the content of Adele's lyrics and Taylor Swift's lyrics. It's interesting to see the reception of Adele crying about her ex-boyfriends be so different than Taylor Swift doing the same.
Eh. I mean, I know she's beloved for not caring about what dumbasses who think she's fat have to say (and good on her for it), but between her being completely humorless about her music and the realization that she really only has about 3 or 4 intonation tricks that she keeps going back to the well on, I'm kinda over…
GREAT!
I know I go on about this but Massachusetts is much better on paper.
Except that there are massive portions of art, literary, and film criticisms that deal with how different groups (race, gender, etc) are treated in such creative works. Accepting games as art means not plugging your ears every time a game is critiqued for its representation of a certain social group. Freedom does not…
Honestly I'm usually tired of hearing about it but for me it's because of how it is presented. Here Stephen presented the issue in a professional way and not trying to incite page clicks or baiting hate from the comments like other sites and articles usually elicit. Thanks Mr. Totilo for a good read and I hope this…
Thank you for your attention to this, and your dedication. So many people are "tired of it", either because it's just not relevant to them—or maybe some rare few, because they're guilty of contributing to the problem. I do believe that change can happen for the better, and with people like you, sites like this,…
I'm shocked by how people are going off on you for this. Like, you're definitely not the only person who thinks nail-biting is gross. And, many people think things friends do are gross. All this contempt for you is really odd.
