I did, and it was bad then, certainly much worse now though. This is one of several sites that think being a incredibly particular geek is a good thing and it’s always been embarrassing for the rest of us.

Jesus christ give them some time. It’s been literally a day and it’s a holiday weekend. Also bold of you to imply AV Club has ever been good and not tryhard “geek” content
Are they actually selling quieter fans? The impression I got on the Steam Deck sub-reddit is that people had faulty fans but didn’t want to send their entire deck to Valve to get it replaced so opted to simply pay for a replacement and install it themselves.
This niche product is proof of that? What? Certainly the Switch is a better example.
Haven’t messed with Dreamcast emulation but GC emulation works great on my Steam Deck. Dolphin is generally a very well regarded emulator.
“It would make sense that people in Japan would know his talent, which is much more prominently featured over there, but in the West? Beats me…”
Well the good news is that the longer you wait the better the software will be. Enjoying mine but it certainly feels like a first generation early adopter product.
It doesn’t have the aesthetic of either thing mentioned. It only has some of the gameplay of Stardew but looks like Earthbound. It’s a disservice to not let games (or movies or wherever else this technique is used) stand on their own.
Can we stop doing the X +Y clickbait format? I don’t remember Kotaku doing this so much in the past and it always seems like a disservice to the game being previewed. I thought this one the other day was satire but reading through it was actually serious: https://kotaku.com/loopmancer-cyberpunk-roguelite-3d-platformer-…
I’m not sure we needed this many words as any Steam Deck owner will tell you this. The experience at this point is 100% standard early adopter stuff where you’re basically helping them refine the experience and give feedback and supporting them so they can go onto make a much better 2nd gen device.
Hopefully the dev got a nice flat rate that allows them to fund years of development or possibly even hire some people if they want to grow. Think about the long term approach on this one. $3 a pop only goes so far.
This is totally weird to find on a website like this. There’s several titles on here that Kotaku has given good coverage to. Do you only play AAA titles?
Yes, if their cloud implementation sucks, don’t use it. Microsoft and Google (for however long that will last) handle this much better.
They don’t have the KH1/2 source code to do that.
This is an odd take, to assume that this is an industry wide problem, and not SE being cheap as hell and offering the necessary capacity. This isn’t an inherit problem with cloud streaming.
Still sounds supplemental to me. Knowing that doesn’t change the entire rest of the game’s story. Does change what a sequel might look like and/or setup a possible appearance in AW2.
I don’t get that impression but I didn’t play the Alan Wake DLC. Could one DLC really change that much? It added to the game, didn’t replace what was already there, right?
What about tablets, Smart TVs running Android, and set top boxes for Apple TV and Android TV? You know you can use controllers with all of these right? There’s a lot of options out there and it’s always reductive to just say it’s “phones” as if that affects the quality of the game anyways. There’s a variety of stuff…
What is the point of the comment. You think Microsoft made this up?
Why should people get everything they ask for and especially when people want vastly different things? Of the 4 highlighted “issues” only 2 seem real and those are bugs to be patched. Don’t hurt the rest of the game to favor the tiny pro and speeding running community when your game is built for mass appeal. I really…
